William S. “Buddie” Curtis, 84, of Fairview, passed away Thursday June 13, 2019, at Baptist Health in Lexington.
He was born on January 21, 1935 in Robertson County to the late Boyd & Beulah Highlander Curtis.
Mr. Curtis attended Piqua school. He served his country in the US Navy, from 1955 to 1957, aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga. He was a lifetime tobacco and dairy farmer. He was a member of the Fairview Christian Church and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose No.1154 in Maysville. Mr. Curtis, along with his wife, Louetta ran Bud’s Grocery in Fairview for nearly 15 years, they also owned and helped operate the Ewing-Fleming County Fair for 13 years. He drove a school bus for Fleming County Schools for 27 years
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Louetta Graves Curtis; his daughter, Angie (Jamie) Black of Fairview; his granddaughter, Amber (Josh) Irwin & by his great-grandson Jordan Irwin, whom brought him a considerable amount of joy in his last few years. He is also survived by his brothers Gordon (Betty) Curtis of Mt. Sterling, Paul (Loretta) Curtis of Elsmere and his sister Carolyn (Jake) Flaugher of Florence; his brother-in-law, Jerry Ginnan of Richmond and sisters-in-law, Mary Etta Graves of Ewing & Mary Ruth Graves of Bellbrook, OH. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew Robbie (Anna) Graves.
In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by his brothers-in-law, Robert (Bobby) Graves, Billie Graves & sister-in-law Norma Graves Ginnan.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 18, 2019 in the chapel of the Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville with Jeff Ginnan and Pastor Kevin Cornette officiating.
Burial with full military honors by the W. N. Fant American Legion Post No. 5 and the Franklin Sousley VFW Post No. 1834 will be in the Elizaville Cemetery.
Visitation at the Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville is after 5:00 P.M. Monday.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Black, Josh Irwin, Robbie Graves, Jeff Ginnan, Nick Barton, Billy Getz, Gary Curtis and Bill Leet.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Irwin and Jerry Butler.
