Mr. Timothy Eugene Perkins, 77, of Elizaville Road, Ewing, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in the King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
He was born on June 24, 1941 in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of the late William Morgan Perkins and Jessie Kendall Perkins.
Mr. Perkins was an avid hog, beef cattle, dairy cattle, soybean, corn, hay and tobacco farmer and a lifetime cattle trader.
He was a Kentucky Colonel and was awarded the Ag Leader of the Year Award in 2015.
Mr. Perkins was a member of the Elizaville Christian Church, where he had served as a deacon.
He served on the Southern States Board, loved to watch Westerns and was an avid U. K. football and basketball fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Morgan “Bill” Perkins and James Travis Perkins, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Geraldine Filson and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Bobby Gore.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Brenda Filson Perkins, whom he married on June 10, 1960, three daughters, Carol Jean Perkins, Mary Beth Napier (Bill) and Elizabeth Rose Perkins (Nick Synder) all of Ewing, one son, Timothy Eugene Perkins II (Christa) of Flemingsburg, nine grandchildren, Tiffany Napier, Bradley Napier, Morgan Napier, Kennedy Perkins, Kooper Perkins, Arlee Perkins, Cayla McFarland, Chaston McFarland and Jessie Dene Synder, three great-grandchildren, Lane Harding, Andrew Napier and Kayliegh Bussell, sister-in-law, Mary Lou Perkins of Ewing, brother-in-law, Randy Filson (Toya) of Wyoming, Ohio and a herd of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 12, 2019 in the chapel of the Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville with Rev. Rich Anderson and Rev. Herbie Stallard officiating.
Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery.
Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Greg Hazelrigg, Matthew Meadows, Jim Meadows, Bobby Knipp, Jack Anderson, Chad Copher, Richie Kielman and Yogi Copher.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Pettit, Bobby Vice, Lowell Craig, Ervin Gardner, Eldon Ginn, Randel Arnett, Danny Case, David Shepherd, Bill Kachler, Nathan Pecco, L. L. Emmons, Charles Ishmael, James Arnett, Robert Masters, Don Young and Don Muse.
