Leslie Newman Wells, 94, of Cabool, Missouri formerly of Fleming County, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 at his home in Missouri.
He was born on January 14, 1928 in Fleming County, Kentucky, a son of the late Oscar Lee Wells and Vada Williams Wells.
Mr. Wells was a farmer; he raised peacocks; had owned a fast food restaurant and was a licensed funeral director and embalmer.
He was of the Baptist faith and he enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Isabelle Clemons Wells, one brother, James Wells and sisters, Ella Simons, Ruby Boggess, Lucille Carpenter, Christine Dotson, Daulene McCord, Ruth Whitton, Grace Bentley, Cora Mae Wells, Bernice Leet Grant and Edith Wilson.
Survivors include three sons, Leslie Clemons Wells (Patrice) of Theodosia, Missouri, William “Bill” Wells (Gale) of Summersville, Missouri and Harry Lee Wells (Karen) of Eureka, California, one daughter, Vada Rhyne (Lonnie) of Cabool, Missouri, twelve grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 25, 2022 at the Elizaville Cemetery Chapel.
Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the W. N. Fant American Legion Post No. 5, Franklin Sousley VFW Post No. 1834 and the United States Navy.
There is no visitation.
