Mr. Emmitt Earl Dotson, 83 of Flemingsburg, passed away Friday, April 10, 2020 at VA HealthCare in Lexington.
He was born July 30, 1936 in Mason County, Kentucky the eldest son of the late Jessie Elmer and Christine Wells Dotson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Lee Dotson; a brother, James W. Dotson and a sister, Alice Dotson Clark.
He graduated from Minerva High School, the class of 1955. He proudly served his country in the United States Army where he trained as a paratrooper. He later attended the University of Kentucky and was a retired log buyer and enjoyed woodworking, reading, fishing, and visiting with friends and family. He also enjoyed the public library.
Survivors include his daughter, Pamela Dotson (RD) Reynolds; granddaughters Ashley Reynolds (Todd) Watts and Amanda Reynolds (Patrick Davis); great-grandchildren Aaron Clark Watts and Audrey Faith Watts all of Flemingsburg; brother, Bill (Harriett) Dotson of Ellsberry, Ohio and sister Grace Dotson Curtis of Mt. Olivet, Kentucky
Memorial services and military rites will be conducted at a later date in the Sunnyside Cemetery at Mt. Tabor near Ewing.
