Cordelia Mae Dillon Armstrong, 94, was welcomed into Glory on October 8, 2019 in Maysville, KY. Cordelia was born on May 22, 1925 in Fleming County, Kentucky, to the late Armstrong H. Dillon and Stella B. Hunt Dillon. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ora Ray Armstrong, whom she wed on January 18, 1947. She had one brother, the late Cletus Brooks Dillon.
Known to most as "Aunt Dee", she is survived by her beloved nieces and nephews. She adored her many great- and even great-great-nieces and nephews, and never missed a birthday.
Cordelia graduated from Fleming County High School in 1943, then moved to Ohio to pursue further education at the Portsmouth Interstate Business College. She enjoyed working and retired from American Electric Power Company after 43 years of service. She was a member of the Southern Ohio Chapter of AEP Veterans Employees and Retirees Association. While living in Wheelersburg, Ohio, Cordelia was an active member of the First Church of Christ where she served as church treasurer for many years. A true dog person, she loved and cared for several dogs in her lifetime. Cordelia was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years. Her last two and a half years were spent back in Fleming County, KY, where she was cared for by several wonderful friends and neighbors and attended the Nepton United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2019 at Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville, Kentucky with Pastor Adam Gulley officiating.
Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery.
Visitation at the Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville is after 12:00 p.m. Friday
Pallbearers include Heath Gulley, Eric Dillon, Jared Dillon, Bradley McKinney, Jeffrey Stahl, Kent Coburn and Kyle Fawver. Dickie Dillon, Danny Dillon, Jim Chandler, and Kendall Gulley will serve as honorary pallbearers.
