Shirley Ann Gifford, 77, of Lewisburg, Kentucky passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.
She was born in Maysville, Kentucky on October 5, 1939, a daughter of the late William "Bulger" Tumey and Alberta "Bertie" Purcell Tumey.
Shirley was an employee of the Mason County School System, where she had worked as a bus monitor.
She was a loving mother and friend and always put others needs before her own.
Shirley was a faithful member of the Lewisburg Baptist Church. Her most impressive characteristic to her family and friends was her faith to trust in and rely upon the Lord her God to shee her through many trials and tribulations that prevailed upon her throughout life. She manifested in life a fruit of the Holy Spirit that indwelled her, along with a great compassion to love and show compassion for others even though she suffered great pain and physical hardship.
We will leave it to others that she blessed in life to tell her legacy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Purcell and second husband, Glenn Gifford.
Survivors include one daughter, Ramona (Randy) Miller of Mays Lick, one son, Jeff (Jennifer) Purcell of Maysville, one brother Don (Rosie) Tumey of Maysville, grandchildren, Michael Wells, Richard Latham III, Bryan Purcell and Angie Wells, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 3, 2017 at the Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville, Kentucky with Brother Calvin Hall officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the funeral home.
